Caring for mind and body

General practitioners are often the first port of call for people seeking help with mental health concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, low mood, sleep issues, or feeling overwhelmed. At The Surgery at Jerra, we understand that taking the first step can be hard — and we’re here to support you with care, confidentiality, and compassion.

Our GPs are experienced in recognising and managing a wide range of mental health conditions. We take the time to listen and work with you to develop a plan that meets your needs.

If appropriate, your GP may prepare a Mental Health Care Plan, which outlines your goals and the support you may need. This plan also enables access to Medicare-subsidised sessions with a psychologist, mental health social worker, or other allied health professionals.

We work closely with a trusted network of local mental health providers and can guide you through the referral process.

Whether you’re dealing with ongoing mental health challenges or navigating a tough patch, you don’t have to go it alone. We’re here to help.
