TIME TO SAY CHEERIO TO DR PETE

Dec 15, 2022

After more than 11 years at TSAJ, it’s time for a change for Dr Peter Cole.
He finishes up at the practice in late January 2023 and we wish him well as he enters a new stage in his career.
TSAJ owners, Dr David Yates and business manager Kylie Yates would personally like to thank Dr Pete for being an integral part in making TSAJ what it is today. He will always be considered an important member of the TSAJ family, a GP grandfather of the practice, if you will.
He is much loved, respected and admired.. even if he is English!

YOU’VE SPOKEN, WE’VE LISTENED

Nov 22, 2021

Thanks to all of our patients who contributed to our recent practice survey which forms part of our upcoming accreditation assessment. You have provided us clear feedback on our strengths but, more importantly, some valuable ideas on how we can service you and your family better.
We are excited to announce that 96% of all patient ratings about this practice were either good, very good or excellent.
Have a look at the pie chart below to see some of the key areas of excellence as judged by you.
May be an image of text that says 'Key Areas of Ecellence for TSAJ Practice Survey 69% 68% 71% 69% Satisfaction with onsultation 70% Warmth of greeting Ability to listen 71% 66% Reassurance Confidence in ability Repect shown to patient Recommendation'
But, there’s always room for improvement.
Already, since the survey was conducted earlier this year:
• Dr Edward Lyle and Dr Emma Szallasi have joined the TSAJ family.
• There are more phone consult appointment times
• a constant process review to ensure our team of doctors and nurses have time for you and you are not spending too much of your time in our waiting room!
Your feedback is always welcome so please, at any time, email us here at TSAJ and have your say. Our email is reception@tsaj.com.au.
Thanks for your input so far.

PATIENT SCREENING AND COVID TESTS FOR KIDS

Aug 19, 2021

Now, this can be confusing. Please read carefully.

There is a difference between stay-at-home orders and being identified as a close or casual contact with self-isolation orders. Therefore, there are people we can’t see even if they have a negative Covid test.

If you are on stay-at-home orders like most of the ACT and surrounding NSW, you can come to TSAJ as long as you don’t have any symptoms or have had a negative Covid test in the 72 hours before your appointment. You may be asked to provide proof of your result.

If you are a close contact of someone who has tested positive, you are not allowed out of quarantine for the full 14 days, even if you test negative to all your required tests. If you are that unwell, go to hospital or call an ambulance.

If you are a casual contact, you can attend TSAJ once you receive a negative result from your day one test as long as you have no symptoms. If you still have a cough, cold, runny nose, fever, sore throat etc, you must get another test. If you are that unwell, go to hospital or call an ambulance.
NOW – People of all ages, including babies, must have a negative Covid test if they have symptoms.

Patients over the age of 12 months with symptoms MUST have had a negative COVID test within the last 72 hours to be seen face to face. We have telephone consults available which can be made online or call 6255 8112 to book.
For babies less than 12 months with symptoms, contact the Lakeview Respiratory Clinic online at lakeviewrespiratoryclinic.com.au. If the bub is very unwell, call 6185 1986 and advise the receptionist that their Practice Manger, Jurine, has confirmed she will book TSAJ unwell children on the day for a respiratory review and swab.
ALL patients coming in for face-to-face appointments at TSAJ are asked to remain outside unless you are elderly or have a baby with you. If you cannot park close to the surgery and wait in your car, please wait on the chairs outside. Let reception know where you are.

With the current situation, this advice is changing all the time. Please bear with us. If you need clarification, call the surgery on 6255 8112.

Just a reminder of our zero tolerance policy. Please don’t take your frustration about this pandemic out on us.

Stay safe.

YES, YOU CAN COME TO THE DOCTOR

Aug 13, 2021

CAN I GO TO THE DOCTOR?

The ACT Government has confirmed you can leave the ACT for an appointment at The Surgery at Jerra as we are in the approved border bubble and it’s to access essential healthcare.

As always, we will only see people with no Covid-like symptoms, or have had a recent negative Covid test.

Our existing patients can always book a telephone consult but please be aware normal consultation fees may apply.

Stay safe.

PULLING OUT OF THE COVID VACCINE ROLLOUT

Jul 16, 2021

The Surgery at Jerra has made the difficult decision to withdraw from the Covid-19 Astra Zenica vaccine rollout. No more dose one bookings will be taken from today (16 July).

We will, of course, continue to administer 2nd doses for patients who have already had the first dose with us.

The main reason – our staff are being continually abused about the availability of vaccines, eligibility for the different vaccines and changing government recommendations.

We understand these are trying times but our team, both clinical and administrative, do not deserve to bear the brunt of someone’s frustrations with the vaccine rollout.

We apologise for the change but unfortunately, this issue is increasing and both management and staff have had enough!

By the time we finish the booked second doses, we will have administered more than two thousand Covid vaccines.

We have also pulled out of the upcoming Pfizer rollout in general practices.

If you would like to book your first Covid vaccine, go to https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/coronavirus, fill out the eligibility checker and then click to find a nearby vaccine provider.

Stay safe.
